Being Found

To prevent survival situations, always tell someone reliable where you are heading, and when you shall be back. In that way, if you aren't back at the right time, the search for you will start faster. Never go alone in the woods; 2 is a minimum. Remember that the more you are, the greater are the chances of being found.

Once you are mentally and physically ready to spend a night in the woods, it's time to do some signals.

First of all, if you have a whistle, whistle every minute while working on the shelter. If you don't have one, don't scream, screaming will get you thirsty and isn't motivating at all .

Once the shelter is done; light a fire. Fire is visible and the smell of smoke will attract humans looking for you. If you can, light a few fires around your camp. Refer to the page called ''Fire'' for a safe way of lighting one.
